Celebrate International Women in Maths Day (May 12)

Hey MUMSters, Celebrate International Women in Mathematics Day (IWIMD) on May 12 with MUMS, STAMPS, and the School of Maths & Stats! MUMS x STAMPS IWIMD Picnic & Giveaway Date: Monday 13th May Time: 1:30-3:00pm Location: Peter Hall Lawn Meet and socialise with other women, trans, and gender diverse (WTGD) students with an interest in maths in a friendly and relaxed setting. Join us for **free sushi** and **goodie bags**! From the School of Maths & Stats: May12 Coffee Chats Date: May 13-17. Sign up: https://forms.gle/NQ2P68BySz8ExBM49 (Closes 11:59pm May 10) As part of celebrating May12, WTGD maths students can sign up to be paired with a mentor or mentee to have a chat about your shared experiences and interests in maths over a free drink at a UniMelb cafe of your choosing! If you are debating whether maths is for you, want a chance to learn more about what your next stage in studying maths could look like, or want to help someone along their mathematical journey - this event is for you! We encourage WTGD maths students of all levels of experience to sign up. May12 Autonomous Discussion Session Date: May 13 Time: Arrive 5pm for a 5:15pm start Location: Kathleen Syme Library (near the Swanston Street tram stop) Expression of Interest: https://forms.gle/W651rP5MtKSgPrdHA (Closes 11:59pm May 10) For May12, we are hosting an autonomous discussion session intended to be a safe forum for WTGD members of the School of Maths and Stats to share their experiences (positive and negative). This event is open to all WTGD students and staff in the School. May12 Wall of Support In the lead up to IWIMD, you are invited to write anonymous notes of support and encouragement for WTGD maths students at one of the many note writing stations placed around the School. From May 12th, these notes will be displayed outside the JH Michell Theatre!
